I saw Google photos prior to arriving and was a bit worried and made the wrong choice - it looked very worn out. In reality, the photos on Booking were more accurate than Google. The room was spacious, in good condition and smelt heavenly. Thermostatic heaters kept us warm at night. The restaurant was simple but good.

Staff were lovely and friendly (especially the dogs) - the room was on the smaller side, but super comfortable and well designed - the bathroom especially! We also had a lovely balcony overlooking the forest.

Very close to glacial Lake Bâlea, this is the best accommodation on Transfăgărăşan road with stunning view of the waterfall and mountains, which can also be admired from the restaurant while enjoying your meal. The food is well cooked, breakfast is good and varied. Prices are decent considering it's a remote location. The staff was friendly, serving was quick. The rooms were clean and spacious. We had a relaxing time and we will certainly be back.
